Mental Health Resilience for Students
Move over campus buildings- Zoom, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube are replacing the classrooms and hallways of college life as online learning gets into its stride. While useful, the change in learning style and environment, even at the best of times, is bound to have some impact on the mental health of new students. This can especially impact students in high school and college who are meant to have the chance to explore their options and understand themselves better- a bit tricky when cooped between four walls and glued to the computer screen!
It cannot be disputed that many students have been struggling with their mental health while adapting to online learning and, in some cases, falling into unhealthy habits they cannot get out of. On the 23rd of November 2021 at 5pm, the Year 2 UOL Law Students and ReachOut proudly present the latest session in the Welcome to Adulthood series, “Mental Health Resilience for Students”. This session will guide students on different methods they can use to stay on top of their game and ready-to-conquer the challenge of remote learning-with a healthy mind of course! Our guests for this session include Ms. Heeran Kaur, Licensed Professional Counsellor of Soffskills Network, Ms. Chin Xiuli, Clinical Psychologist of Eunoia Mind Wellness Hub and Dr. Alexander McGregor, Principal of UCSI International School Subang who will be speaking on specific problems that students face (which have been addressed to us) as well as solutions- a knowledge based AND problem solving session!
We understand the difficulties that students face, which is why they need help and guidance, and also why this SHOULD be talked about more.
“What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor and more unashamed conversation.” – Glenn Close.
So do come and join us and hear from both perspectives, professionals and students. Start your journey to Mental Health Resilience by joining this session via zoom!
